About Me

Welcome to my Professional Development Quest Portfolio (or PDQP for short)!  This blog contains my journey as a student/teacher: where I've been, where I'm at, and where I long to be as an educator.  After teaching 8 years at a small private school in the Inland Empire (located in California), I decided to attend National University online and pursue a single subject teaching teaching credential and Master's in Education with a specialization in Best Practices.  My purpose in pursuing this degree was two-fold.  First and primarily, I entered the credential program so I could be better educator for my school.  Secondly, I wanted the credentials to be able to have some options later down the road.  Currently, I am teaching World History to both 7th and 10th graders as well as World Geography to freshmen.  As a history teacher, I have three core objectives:
  • Make history understandable
  • Make history practical
  • Make history enjoyable
As you work your way through this blog, you will find how I have been working to achieve these three goals in various ways with my current students as well as what I'm learning as a teacher. I hope you enjoy reading about my journey!
